There are three main factors in Florida's post-war development that best reflect the times. First, several soldiers who were stationed in FL during and before the war decided to make the state their home in post-war America. Second, the invention of air-conditioning made FL living much more attractive to these new migrants to the state. Third, the national highway system--a product of the Cold War--allowed for the transportation of more people throughout the state.
