Mapping Rosenwald Schools in Florida

Mapping the Rosenwald Schools in Florida as class exercise was an aggressive choice this semester. The goal for this African American History Since 1877 course was to "dive deep" into the experience of African Americans after Reconstruction. Using the "Education and Work" mantra as central theme for African American aspiration, I pushed my students to navigate multiple spaces to get things done. The information they collected allowed me to create the map below. There are some good things in the map. To be honest, there are a lot of bad things as well. This is not the final version, but this is a great start point.
