Over the weekend, I continued my research on how Winter Park as a city was influenced by Park Avenue. I found mainly the same reasoning from site to site; being that an influx in building of restaurants and other corporations that bring in business and money took place and brought many new people to the city of Winter Park, looking for new opportunities to make money. Originally being a city where northerners spent their winter vacations, hence the name Winter Park, the new businesses brought down many more permanent residents than there were before. Along with these new residents came a greater circulation of money which, unknowingly at the time, would lead to the rich, well-respected city that Winter Park has now become. Without the incorporation of Park Avenue into the city of Winter Park, who knows where the city would be today, or if it would even be a city, as it was once just a town?
