Ok, new history is the wrong way to put it. History isn't new. Nonetheless, a new class means new students posting to the blog. The focus this semester will be Florida History. With our new curricular plan pilot coming online and new classes focus on Florida as a window into global issues, getting students thinking about and writing about Florida is probably a good idea. This class will be dealing with contact to the end of Reconstruction. Florida, that history, like today, is filled with consideration of ethnic conflict, environmental concerns, and challenging politics. I think the students will enjoy the opportunity to explore Florida with the resources available at Rollins. Well, enjoy, might be a strong word for a class that meets at 8:00am:)
