Albin Polasek and WInter Park

Winter Park is an asset to the region for it architectural beauty and cultural diversity. As an artist, I was drawn to the area for its peaceful spirit. During one of my first visits, I came across the annual Arts Festival which i was reminded of when i started thinking of potential research topics. It was brought to my attention that the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens has also been a major attraction to the residents and tourists, alike.
Being born in Czechoslovakia, Polasek was an immigrant to this country. After studying in Rome, Pennsylvania, and Chicago he choose Winter Park to be his final destination. Eventually turning his home into the museum and gardens that house over 200 of this prolific artists work. having a rough background, Polasek choose for admission to be free to give appreciation to the spirit that he was met with when he came to America.
In all, my research project will be about the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens. From his relationship with the world to its affect on the area, he serves as a superior model of global citizenship. it was only his wish to pass on his love and appreciation for art into future generations.
